Job Summary:

We are seeking a agile, motivated, and experienced individual to lead our Bakery Department. The Bakery Manager is responsible for overseeing all department operations, maintaining high standards of product quality, presentation, and freshness, and developing a skilled, customer-focused team. This leadership role plays a key part in driving sales, controlling costs, and enhancing the overall customer experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Leadership & Development

- Recruit, hire, train, schedule, and mentor Bakery staff to build a high-performing team.
- Provide clear direction and delegate tasks effectively.
- Foster a collaborative, safe, and supportive work environment where team members are motivated to excel.
- Operational Excellence

· Ensure the department is clean, organized, and fully stocked with fresh, visually appealing products.

· Oversee daily bakery production, merchandising, and product rotation to meet company standards.

· Manage inventory, place accurate and timely orders, and coordinate with vendors to ensure product availability.

· Control shrinks and waste while maintaining target margins.

- Customer Experience

· Deliver exceptional customer service by leading through example.

· Resolve customer concerns and inquiries professionally and efficiently.

· Ensure bakery displays are inviting and that all products are properly labeled with pricing and allergen information.

- Safety & Compliance

· Promote a safety-first culture by modeling and enforcing safe work and food handling practices.

· Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and sanitation standards across all shifts.

- Cross-Department Collaboration




- Work closely with other Department Managers and the Store Manager to align strategies and contribute to the store’s overall success.
- Actively participate in leadership meetings and support store initiatives.
- Administrative Duties
- Perform key-holding responsibilities including store safe management and alarm system procedures when required.
- Maintain records related to inventory, scheduling, production, and staff performance.

Skills and Qualifications:

- Prior bakery and food production experience in a retail or commercial setting.
- Strong leadership experience with the ability to lead and inspire a team.
- Knowledge of bakery techniques, food safety, and sanitation regulations.
- Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated success in merchandising and achieving sales goals.
- Ability to solve problems and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in English, both verbal and written.
- Flexible availability, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Work Conditions & Physical Requirements:

- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods; frequent bending, twisting, crouching, and kneeling.
- Comfortable lifting up to 50 lbs and performing repetitive, physically demanding tasks.
- Capable of handling baking equipment safely and efficiently.
