Have solid framing experience and take pride in building things properly? Lawford Construction is hiring experienced framing carpenters for our fast growing crews.
We specialize in multi-storey wood-frame apartment and condominium projects. We’re looking for dependable people who know their way around a framing site, work safely, and can complete assigned tasks without constant step-by-step direction.
Experience on multi-family projects is an asset, but we also welcome experienced residential framers who want to move into larger projects.
What you’ll do
Working under the direction of a site foreman, you will:
- Frame walls, floors, roofs, and other structural components.
- Install prefabricated wall panels, sheathing, blocking, and strapping.
- Read framing plans and follow project details to complete accurate work.
- Check measurements, layout, level, and plumb as work progresses.
- Work with your crew to meet daily goals and flag drawing, material, or installation issues early.
- Use tools and equipment safely and help keep the site organized.
What we’re looking for
- At least three years of hands-on wood-framing experience.
- Ability to complete common framing tasks with limited supervision.
- Ability to read framing plans and follow layout and installation instructions.
- Reliable attendance, clear communication, and a willingness to work as part of a crew.
- Ability to work safely at heights and in outdoor construction conditions.
- Reliable transportation to assigned job sites.
- Personal tools required: Personal hand drill and stocked tool belt ( list to be provided)
Multi-family framing, panel installation, and experience with fire-rated assemblies are assets.
Journeyperson carpenter certification, including Red Seal endorsement, or registration as a carpenter apprentice is an asset.
Experienced framers without formal certification are also encouraged to apply.
What we offer
- An hourly wage that reflects your skills and experience, within the posted range.
- Steady, year-round framing work.
- Dental, extended health, and vision benefits beginning after 3 months.
- Opportunities to take on more responsibility as your skills and the company grow.
- A crew that values secure work, quality workmanship, and reliability.
Job sites: Winnipeg and surrounding areas. Some travel may be required.
Overtime: may be required from time to time to meet project deadlines, with advance notice provided whenever possible.
How to apply
Send your resume and/or a brief summary of your framing experience.
Please include:
- The types of projects you’ve worked on.
- The framing tasks you can complete independently.
- Whether you have experience reading plans and completing layout.
- Your expected hourly rate and availability to start.
Job type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour
