Welder / Metal Fitter-Fabricator

Our client is an established fabrication shop specializing in custom metalwork, serving a diverse range of industries. They pride themselves on delivering high-quality, precision-crafted steel assemblies, structures, and components tailored to unique project requirements.

Our client is looking for an experienced Welder who can independently interpret technical drawings, fit and assemble metal components, and weld structural and miscellaneous steel to exacting standards. This role is focused on crafting custom solutions such as staircases, railings, platforms, and structural steel assemblies with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

- Read and interpret fabrication drawings to understand project requirements.
- Perform layout, fitting, and assembly of steel components with precision.
- Fabricate custom products such as staircases, railings, platforms, mezzanines, and structural steel assemblies from shop drawings.
- Weld using GMAW (MIG), MCAW, FCAW, and GTAW (TIG) processes to industry standards.
- Verify dimensions and ensure quality standards are met throughout the fabrication process.
- Operate fabrication equipment, including ironworkers, press brakes, shears, plasma cutters, and oxy-fuel torches.




- Safely use overhead cranes and material handling equipment to move heavy components.

Qualifications

- 3+ years of experience in a fabrication shop environment.
- Strong blueprint reading skills and the ability to interpret technical drawings.
- Experience fitting and assembling steel components from drawings.
- Proficiency in welding fabricated assemblies using MIG, MCAW, FCAW, and TIG processes.
- Experience building structural steel and/or miscellaneous metal components.
- Valid CWB certification preferred.
- Red Seal Metal Fabricator or Welder certification preferred.

Schedule:

- Stable, full-time employment
- No rotating shifts
- Consistent day shift schedule (Monday–Thursday: 7:00 AM–4:30 PM, Friday: 7:00 AM–3:30 PM).

Pay: $27.00-$38.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40.0 per week
