The Dudley Inn is a modern boutique motel just outside Bala — eight renovated rooms plus a two-bedroom farmhouse on a quiet, forest-surrounded property. We run a lean, contactless operation known for spotless rooms and fast, friendly service. Open year-round.

Remote role — but you must be local to the Muskoka area, or willing to relocate.

The role
We're looking for an organized, dependable person to keep our day-to-day running smoothly and be the friendly voice behind our guest communication. You'll work as part of a small team in daily contact with the owner. It's perfect for someone who works well within a clear structure but also takes initiative, goes above and beyond, and gets the job done.

What you'll do

- Daily on-site checks (about an hour a day): inspect housekeeping and room cleanliness, walk the property, check and order supplies, receive deliveries, and report maintenance issues.
- Manage the booking calendar and day-to-day reservations in Cloudbeds and across our channels (Expedia and Booking.com).
- Handle guest communication — almost entirely by chat: Cloudbeds messaging for booked guests, and AI-assisted replies for pre-booking enquiries.
- Oversee contactless check-in and help guests with access or tech questions.
- Coordinate with our housekeeper to keep every room guest-ready.
- Keep supplies stocked and coordinate maintenance and vendors as needed.
- Protect our five-star reputation by resolving guest issues promptly and kindly.





Pay — starting at $42,000, up to $55,000
The range reflects how much housekeeping coverage you take on — covering our housekeeper's days off and busy, high-turnover days. A likely schedule:

- November–April: 1–2 cleaning days per week, about 3–5 hours per day.
- May–October: 2–4 cleaning days per week, about 4–6 hours per day.
- Roughly 400–500 cleaning hours a year for someone willing and able — a conservatively high estimate.

You must have

- To be local to the Bala/Muskoka area, or willing to relocate — the role has a daily on-site component, so it can't be done fully remotely from elsewhere.
- A reliable vehicle and valid driver's licence.
- Your own laptop and a reliable cell phone.
- Comfort with technology — Cloudbeds and AI chat tools for guest messaging.
- Strong organization, attention to detail, reliability, and teamwork — and someone who takes direction well.
- Availability to start immediately.
