Academic Anatomical Pathologist (3)

Applications are invited for full-time permanent (1.0 FTE) Anatomical Pathologist positions (3 available) in the Department of Laboratory Medicine, Hamilton Regional Laboratory Medicine Program (HRLMP), at St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton and Hamilton Health Sciences with academic appointments in the Department of Pathology and Molecular Medicine at McMaster University.

The ideal candidate will have completed residency training in Diagnostic and Molecular Pathology (Anatomical Pathology) or Diagnostic and Clinical Pathology (General Pathology). Additional subspecialty fellowship training in one of the following areas would be considered an asset:

- Gastrointestinal pathology
- Head and Neck/Endocrine pathology
- Pediatric pathology

Experience in interpreting related biomarker testing, cytology and frozen section skills are required. A second area of subspecialty practice would be an asset. Applicants must hold certification by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or equivalent in DMP/DCP and hold or be eligible to obtain medical licensure in the Province of Ontario.

The successful candidate will hold an academic appointment with the rank commensurate with their skills and experience. They will be expected to regularly participate in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching as needed by the Department of Pathology and Molecular Medicine. A commitment to academic scholarship in the areas of education, quality improvement, knowledge translation, innovation, and/or clinical/translational research is essential.

Remuneration for this full-time position is $418,920 annually consistent with the current Uniform Minimum Level of Compensation (UMLC) for Pathologists in Ontario 2026/27.
