As our business continues to grow, we are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accountant to join our team. This position will play a key role in managing the company's financial operations while working closely with the Controller and Finance Team of our sister company.

Position Summary The Accountant will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting activities, maintaining accurate financial records, payroll, supporting monthly and annual financial reporting, and ensuring the company's financial processes operate efficiently. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with both the Warden District management team and our sister company's finance department to support continued growth and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

- Manage the full-cycle accounting functions of the company.
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements and reports.
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
- Perform account reconciliations and month-end closing activities.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
- Prepare and remit HST and other regulatory filings.
- Monitor project costing and assist with construction-related financial reporting.
- Review payroll information and coordinate with payroll administration.




- Assist with annual audits and tax preparation.
- Maintain financial controls and ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
- Collaborate with the Controller and Finance Team of our sister company on financial reporting, process improvements, and corporate initiatives.
- Support management with financial analysis and strategic decision-making.

Qualifications
- Postsecondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum 3-5 years of accounting experience.
- Experience within the construction, electrical contracting, or service industry is considered a strong asset.
- Knowledge of project costing and job-cost accounting is an asset.
- Experience with QuickBooks is considered an asset.
- Professional designation (CPA) or active pursuit of CPA designation is considered an asset.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a finance team.
