Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Administrative/Accounting Assistant to join our dynamic team.
Responsibilities
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of bookkeeping, accounting administration, or finance administration experience is required.
- Experience with accounts payable/receivable, invoicing, payment processing, reconciliations, receipts, reimbursements, and financial record keeping.
- Robust working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and experience maintaining financial spreadsheets and reconciliation records.
- Experience preparing organized financial documentation and supporting records for an external accountant or accounting department.
- Experience with payroll administration and ADP is an asset.
- Experience with child care billing, Lillio/HiMama, OCCMS, RISE, or fee subsidy administration is a strong asset; training can be provided.
- Experience with QuickBooks or similar bookkeeping/accounting software is an asset.
- Strong numerical accuracy and exceptional attention to detail.
- Highly organized and able to independently manage weekly, biweekly, and monthly deadlines.
- Able to identify discrepancies, investigate differences, and follow through until records are reconciled.
- Able to handle confidential financial, employee, and family information appropriately.
- Previous experience in a child care centre,
school, health care setting, or other regulated environment is an asset.
Education: Diploma or degree in Accounting, Bookkeeping, Business Administration, Finance, Office Administration, or a related field is preferred.
Skills
- Proficiency in QuickBooks, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), and Google Workspace applications
- Strong computer skills with experience in data entry, document proofreading, and file management
- Previous clerical experience in an office setting, ideally within a medical or dental environment
This position is initially offered as a maternity leave contract. There may be an opportunity for the successful candidate to transition into a permanent full-time position following the maternity leave period, based on organizational needs and individual performance. Pay: $20.00-$23.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
