Position: Admissions Advisor

Employment Type: Full time, Permanent

Reporting to: Campus Director

Schedule: Standard business hours, with occasional evening or weekend coverage during peak periods

Location: Onsite, InFocus Film School, Vancouver, BC

Compensation: $40,000–$45,000 annually, plus performance bonus

About InFocus Film School

InFocus Film School is a Vancouver-based cinematic arts institution providing accelerated, hands-on education in film, animation, visual effects, game design, screenwriting, and digital design.

Our programs emphasize practical training, project-based learning, small class sizes, and instruction from working industry professionals. Students are encouraged to develop their own creative voice while building the technical, collaborative, and professional skills required to work in today’s screen and digital media industries.

Position Overview

InFocus Film School is growing, and we are looking for an Admissions Advisor to join our Vancouver campus team.

This role is ideal for a natural connector who can guide prospective students from their first inquiry through to enrolment, building genuine relationships along the way. The Admissions Advisor will manage an active student pipeline, support applicants throughout the admissions process, and work toward established enrolment targets.

The ideal candidate brings at least one year of Admissions and Student Recruitment experience within a Private Career College, strong relationship-building skills, sales experience as an asset, and a post-secondary diploma or degree.

What You Will Do

- Respond to prospective student inquiries by phone, email, text, video, and in person.
- Build genuine relationships with prospective students and guide them from first inquiry through enrolment.
- Conduct admissions consultations and interviews and help applicants identify the program that best aligns with their goals.
- Provide clear, accurate information about programs, schedules, tuition, admissions requirements, and the student experience.
- Manage an active admissions pipeline and maintain consistent, proactive follow-up.




- Work toward established weekly and intake enrolment targets.
- Support prospective students with application steps, required documents, and next actions.
- Maintain accurate applicant notes, statuses, and activity in internal systems.
- Work closely with Finance, Student Services, and leadership to support enrolment goals.
- Participate in team huddles, coaching sessions, and ongoing training.
- Support open houses, information sessions, and recruitment events, including occasional evening or weekend events.
- Represent InFocus Film School with professionalism, energy, and genuine care for prospective students.

What We Are Looking For

- Minimum 1 year of Admissions and Student Recruitment experience within a Private Career College is required.
- Post-secondary diploma or degree required.
- Demonstrated ability to manage a student inquiry or admissions pipeline, follow up consistently, and meet enrolment targets.
- Sales experience is an asset, particularly consultative or relationship-based sales.
- Strong relationship-building and communication skills.
- Confidence engaging prospective students by phone, email, video, and in person.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple applicants, deadlines, and follow-ups.
- High level of initiative, accountability, ambition, and skilled work ethic.
- Ability to receive coaching, apply feedback, and continuously improve performance.
- Genuine interest in film, television, animation, VFX, or the creative industries.
- Familiarity with the private post-secondary education landscape in British Columbia is an asset.
- Bilingual or multilingual abilities are considered a solid asset.
- Must be available to work onsite in Vancouver, BC, Monday to Friday.

- Full-time, permanent, onsite role in Vancouver.
