AeroBarrier Assistant Manager

About Airtight Experts Inc.

Airtight Experts Inc. is a growing building air-sealing company specializing in AeroBarrier air-sealing technology for residential and multi-family construction projects throughout British Columbia.

We are looking for a motivated, hands-on person who wants more than just a job. This position is designed for someone who wants to develop specialized technical skills, take on increasing responsibility and eventually move into a management position.

The Opportunity The successful candidate will initially work as an AeroBarrier Technician Assistant, learning the equipment, air-sealing process and our job-site procedures.

You will also assist with blower-door testing, including helping set up equipment, conducting tests and recording information under the direction of the appropriate personnel.

Over time, you will be trained to:

- Operate AeroBarrier air-sealing equipment
- Set up and dismantle equipment for projects
- Assist with blower-door testing
- Troubleshoot equipment and job-site issues
- Perform basic equipment maintenance and repairs
- Work directly with builders, contractors and site supervisors
- Lead AeroBarrier installations
- Train additional technicians as the company grows
- Eventually supervise crews and manage AeroBarrier projects from start to finish

The long-term goal is to develop the right person into a key management-level employee responsible for overseeing AeroBarrier operations, crews, equipment and projects. What You'll Be DoingAeroBarrier Technician

You will be trained in the operation of AeroBarrier equipment and the air-sealing process.

- Setting up and dismantling AeroBarrier equipment
- Operating compressors, hoses, sprayers and related equipment
- Preparing job sites
- Monitoring AeroBarrier installations
- Performing basic equipment maintenance
- Troubleshooting equipment and job-site problems
- Identifying problems and finding practical solutions
- Working with builders and site supervisors
- Maintaining equipment and supplies
- Ensuring jobs are completed safely and to a high standard
- Keeping equipment clean, organized and ready for the next project
- Eventually leading AeroBarrier crews and installations

Blower-Door Testing Assistant You will also assist with blower-door testing on residential and multi-family projects.




- Helping set up blower-door equipment
- Assisting with preparation of homes and buildings for testing
- Operating testing equipment under direction
- Recording test information and results
- Assisting with site documentation
- Communicating with site personnel
- Helping identify areas requiring additional air sealing
- Learning proper blower-door testing procedures

Previous blower-door experience is not required. Training will be provided.

Who We're Looking For

We are looking for someone who is hands-on, mechanically inclined, reliable and eager to learn.

Construction experience is strongly preferred.

You may have a background as a:

- Construction worker
- Carpenter
- Handyman
- Equipment operator
- Maintenance technician
- HVAC technician
- Mechanical technician
- Electrician
- Drywaller or finishing contractor
- General tradesperson
- Building maintenance worker

We are also interested in someone who may not have extensive construction experience but has excellent mechanical ability, problem-solving skills and a strong desire to build a career in the construction industry. You should be someone who

Career Path Stage 1 – Technician Assistant: Learn the fundamentals of AeroBarrier, air sealing, blower-door testing, construction-site procedures, equipment operation, equipment maintenance and job-site safety.

Stage 2 – AeroBarrier Technician: Take on more responsibility with AeroBarrier installations, equipment operation, equipment troubleshooting, blower-door testing, builder communication and project coordination.

Stage 3 – Lead Technician:



Become capable of independently managing AeroBarrier installations, troubleshooting equipment and leading additional technicians.

Stage 4 – Management: The long-term opportunity is to move into a management position, overseeing AeroBarrier crews, equipment, scheduling, projects and employees.

We are looking for someone who wants to grow with the company, not someone looking for a short-term job.

Requirements

- Construction experience preferred
- Valid driver's licence
- Reliable transportation
- Comfortable working on construction sites
- Comfortable using hand and power tools
- Mechanically inclined
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Physically capable of lifting and moving equipment
- Able to work independently
- Good communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Willing to travel to job sites throughout the Lower Mainland and potentially other areas of BC
- Willing to learn and take on increasing responsibility

AeroBarrier experience is not required. Blower-door experience is not required.

Training will be provided.

Compensation

Competitive salary/hourly wage based on experience and qualifications.

As you develop your skills and take on additional responsibilities, there will be opportunities for increased compensation and advancement.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to progress from an assistant position into a specialized technical and management position.
