Want a job where you can stay active, work with your hands, learn new skills, and be part of a team that actually feels like a team?
Power Vac has been keeping buildings clean and healthy since 1966, and we're looking for a Full-Time Duct Cleaning Technician to join our team.
We're a locally owned and operated company with an experienced team and a reputation for quality work and excellent customer service. Our technicians work throughout Metro Vancouver, on everything from residential homes and strata buildings to commercial, industrial and marine properties.
No duct cleaning experience? That's okay. Duct cleaning experience is an asset but not required. We provide on-site training and are looking for someone with the right attitude, work ethic and willingness to learn.
If you're trustworthy, positive, enjoy working with people and take pride in doing a job well, we'd love to hear from you.
What You'll Be Doing
No two days at Power Vac are exactly the same.
You'll start your morning at our shop, meet up with your crew, load the equipment and head out to the day's job site. From there, you'll work as part of a team to complete professional ventilation and duct cleaning services throughout Metro Vancouver.
Your day may include
- Driving company vehicles and travelling to job sites throughout Metro Vancouver
- Setting up and safely operating professional duct cleaning equipment
- Cleaning residential and commercial ductwork and ventilation systems
- Cleaning dryer vents and other exhaust systems
- Working in mechanical rooms and other building service areas
- Working in occupied buildings while maintaining a qualified and respectful presence
- Communicating with property managers, caretakers, residents, homeowners and other site personnel
- Using hand tools, power tools, vacuums and compressed air equipment
- Working from ladders and occasionally at heights
- Keeping vehicles, tools and equipment clean and organized
- Completing daily work reports
- Wearing a complete Power Vac uniform and representing the company professionally at every job
This is an active, hands-on position. You'll be climbing ladders, carrying equipment, working in mechanical spaces and occasionally working at heights. You must be comfortable lifting 50 lbs. And yes,
sometimes the work gets dirty. That's part of the job!
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who is:
- Trustworthy and dependable
- Punctual and reliable
- Positive and friendly
- Professional and respectful
- Comfortable talking to customers and members of the public
- A team player who genuinely enjoys working with people
- Mechanically inclined and comfortable using hand tools
- Able to take direction and follow established procedures
- Proud of the quality of their work
- Comfortable working independently when required
- Physically capable of performing the requirements of the position
- Comfortable working from ladders and at heights
- Able to drive a company vehicle when required
Previous experience in duct cleaning, a trade, general labour, or similar environment is an asset but not required. Experience using hand tools is also an asset but not required. We'll teach you our processes, equipment and cleaning techniques through on-site training. We're much more interested in finding someone with a great attitude, strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
Training & Career Development
