As we continue to grow, we are looking for a motivated and dedicated Arborist Apprentice to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn the trade from experienced professionals while gaining hands-on experience in the field of arboriculture.

Position Overview:

As an Arborist you will work closely with our experienced arborists to assist with tree maintenance, care, and removal services. You will gain on-the-job training in tree pruning, removals, diagnostics, and more.

Key Responsibilities:

- Tree Maintenance and Care:
- Assist with the pruning, trimming, and removal of trees on residential, commercial, and municipal properties.
- Participate in tree health assessments, including identifying disease, pests, and other hazards.
- Assist with planting, cabling, and staking trees, as well as performing soil tests and applying fertilizers when needed.
- Safety and Equipment Use:
- Learn and adhere to all safety protocols when operating tree care equipment such as chainsaws, chippers, ropes, and aerial lifts.
- Follow safety instructions from senior arborists and help ensure all job sites remain safe for the crew and clients.
- Ensure proper care and maintenance of equipment and tools.
- Learning and Development:
- Gain hands-on experience under the guidance of experienced arborists to develop a strong foundation in the science and practices of tree care.
- Study and apply the principles of arboriculture,



including tree biology, pest management, tree health assessments, and risk analysis.
- Attend training sessions and workshops as part of the apprenticeship program.
- Customer Interaction:
- Support senior arborists in client communication, ensuring transparent explanations of services and addressing any questions or concerns.
- Represent the company with professionalism, courtesy, and attention to customer satisfaction.
- Team Collaboration:
- Work as part of a collaborative team, assisting in both individual and group tasks.
- Assist with job preparation and cleanup, including clearing debris and maintaining an organized job site.

Qualifications:

- Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent (required).
- Formal education in horticulture, forestry, or a related field (preferred but not required).
- ISA Certification (Preferred)
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to perform physically demanding work in various weather conditions.
- Comfortable with heights, climbing trees, and working with heavy equipment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and maintain physical stamina throughout the workday.
- Experience:
- Previous experience in landscaping, tree care, or outdoor work is a plus but not required.
- A strong willingness to learn, take direction, and develop skills in arboriculture.




- Skills:
- Basic knowledge of plant and tree care is an advantage, though not mandatory.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality work.
- Certifications (Preferred but Not Required):
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Any relevant certifications or training related to tree care or safety (OSHA, chainsaw operation, etc.) are a plus.

Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35.0 – 45.0 per week
