Maple Villa is an independent 93-bed licensed long-term care home located in Burlington, Ontario. Maple Villa is fully accredited by Accreditation Canada and has been providing quality resident and family-focused care since 1971. We continually strive to make a difference, to provide Person and Family-centered care and provide services where safety is a priority.
Our interdisciplinary team are committed about the care for our residents, staff, families and volunteers and are consistently reflecting on practices and areas of improvement to provide exceptional, individualized, culturally competent care to our residents and maintain a strong and dedicated health care team.
We are opening a new Home in January 2027 that will support 256 residents in our community! The new Maple Villa is located on Palladium Way in north Burlington.
Position Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Associate Director of Care (RPN) – Informatics, to join our team.
Under the direction of the Director of Nursing – Quality & Standards, the Associate Director of Care – Informatics will be accountable for the successful implementation and ongoing management of the Home’s documentation systems including LTCF-RAI, Point Click Care, data analytics, Artificial Intelligence and other new technology applications. This role is essential in ensuring the accurate assessment and documentation of resident care needs in the Home and will be responsible for coordinating the Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI) process, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and enhancing the quality of care for our residents. Ensures that continuous quality improvement outcomes approved for the Home are met or exceeded, and demonstrates dedication to professional values and the mission, vision and values of the Home.

Qualifications
· Must possess a current Certificate of Registration as a Registered Nurse or Registered Practical Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario as required under the Fixing Long Term Care Act, 2021, ss 79 and Ontario Regulation 246/22 ss. 51
· Previous experience in a long term care home is an asset
· Demonstrated leadership ability and aptitude to teach others
· Excellent organizational, time management, problem solving and attention to detail skills
· Aptitude to learn nursing informatics software
· Base knowledge of electronic resident assessment tools, Microsoft Office and more specifically Microsoft Excel
· Experience using Point Click Care and other clinical software modules
· Interest in and ability to identify new applications such as Artificial Intelligence in long term care
· Ability to successfully complete the RAI-LTCF training

· Available 7 days per week

Main Duties and Responsibilities
· Attends training and other educational activities as required by the RAI-LTCF Project Team
· Completes RAI-LTCF assessments for all residents assigned according to schedule
· Submits RAI-LTCF assessments to CIHI on a timely basis
· Responsible for certifying accuracy and completeness of all sections of the RAI-LTCF
· Provides RAI-LTCF education and computer application training to all applicable users
· Provides ongoing leadership and mentoring for education, data accuracy, and computer applications of the RAI-LTCF process
· Coordinates care plan meetings with clients, designated family along with interdisciplinary team members
· Recognizes and responds to the needs of the clients on the risk management program e.g. allergies, exit seeking clients, choking, falls, personal expressions, etc.
· Responsible and accountable for the coordination, implementation and overall management of Home wide programs such as, but not limited to:
o Documentation including Point Click Care, Information Technology o Quality
· Performs delegated tasks safely and effectively
· Actively participates as part of the interdisciplinary team
· Champions the implementation of emotion focused care
· Completes reports as required
· Ensures nursing staff perform assigned tasks and duties
· Follows all roles and responsibilities for employees and employers as legislated under the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act
· Participates as required in the formulation and review of policies and procedures, job routines, performance appraisals, goal and objectives
· Uses the CQI/Risk Management process to evaluate programs and ensures follow-up
· Participates in the recruitment, evaluation, discipline and termination of personnel
· Responsible for coordination and facilitating interdisciplinary care conferences and ensuring implementation of outcomes

· Responsible for coordinating and ensuring an effective communication system promoting team unity thereby enhancing the resident’s quality of life

· Must actively participate in ongoing educational opportunities and promoting the concept of continuing education throughout the home
· Ensures the accurate completion of resident records reflecting the resident health status and care provided complying with legislative and Home requirements.

· Works cooperatively with students and volunteers to enhance resident care and foster community linkages
· Maintains formal linkages with educational bodies and endorses the practice of research to promote the development of nursing and medical services.
· Provides regular and timely reports on areas of risk including Critical Incidents, concerns and complaints and programs and initiatives to the Director of Care and Director of Nursing

· Participates in the manager on call and weekend on call rotations
· All ADOCs will be trained on the duties of the RN/RPN and occasionally may have to work a unit in a case of an emergency or circumstances where there are no registered staff available The duties and responsibilities outlined above are representative but not all-inclusive.
