Simon Bros Automotive Repair is looking for two motivated individuals to join our team:
- Licensed 310S Automotive Service Technician
- Automotive Apprentice
We are an established, busy automotive repair shop looking for dependable team members who take pride in their work and are committed to providing quality service to our customers. Licensed 310S Automotive Service Technician The successful candidate should be comfortable diagnosing, servicing and repairing a wide variety of makes and models.
Responsibilities include:
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical concerns
- Perform general automotive repairs and maintenance
- Brake, steering and suspension repairs
- Engine and drivability diagnosis and repair
- Perform inspections and preventative maintenance
- Use diagnostic equipment and scan tools
- Accurately identify required repairs
- Maintain a clean and safe work area
- Work independently while contributing to the shop team
Qualifications:
- Valid Ontario 310S Automotive Service Technician licence
- Automotive repair experience
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities
- Valid driver's licence
- Dependable, punctual and professional
- Able to work independently
- Strong attention to detail and workmanship
Automotive Apprentice We are also looking for an Automotive Apprentice who wants to develop their skills and gain hands-on experience working alongside experienced technicians.
Responsibilities include:
- Assist with vehicle inspections and repairs
- Oil changes and routine maintenance
- Tire installation, rotation and repair
- Brake and suspension work
- Assist licensed technicians with diagnosis and more complex repairs
- Maintain tools, equipment and a clean work environment
- Develop skills toward obtaining a 310S licence
Qualifications:
- Registered automotive apprentice preferred
- Previous automotive/shop experience is an asset
- Mechanically inclined and eager to learn
- Reliable and punctual
- Valid driver's licence preferred
- Able to follow instructions and work as part of a team

Responsibilities
- Diagnose vehicle issues accurately using schematics, diagnostic tools, and mechanical knowledge
- Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire rotations, brake inspections, and fluid replacements
- Conduct complex repairs including engine work,
transmission servicing, suspension repairs, and electrical diagnostics
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and assembly techniques to complete repairs efficiently
- Follow safety protocols during heavy lifting, welding tasks, and the use of heavy machinery to ensure a protected working environment
- Read and interpret schematics and technical manuals to guide repair procedures
- Maintain detailed service records and communicate clearly with customers about repair needs and timelines
Skills
- Proven dealership experience or automotive mechanic experience demonstrating technical proficiency
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot vehicle systems effectively
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and maintenance machinery
- Ability to lift heavy components safely and perform physically demanding tasks regularly
- Familiarity with schematics, assembly processes, and automotive repair standards
- Excellent customer service skills to explain repairs clearly and build trust with clients
- Knowledge of vehicle diagnostics, electrical systems, and general automotive repair practices
