Phipps Desserts & Wholesale is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Baker / Cake Decorator to join our growing team!

We take pride in creating high-quality baked goods and desserts that our customers enjoy every day. We are looking for someone with baking experience and are especially interested in candidates with cake decorating experience.

If you have experience decorating cakes professionally, we would love to see your work! Applicants with cake decorating experience are encouraged to include photos, an Instagram page, or a portfolio showcasing cakes they have decorated.

For candidates who have baking experience but are looking to continue developing their skills, we are happy to provide hands-on training for the right person.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare and bake a variety of baked goods, including pastries, cookies, cakes, and specialty desserts
- Decorate cakes and desserts using techniques such as piping, buttercream finishing, writing, borders, and other decorative elements
- Assist with custom and celebration cake orders
- Follow designs, reference photos, and customer specifications when decorating cakes
- Ensure all products meet company standards for quality, consistency, taste, and presentation
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with food safety regulations
- Follow production schedules and work efficiently to meet daily baking and decorating targets
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate supply needs to management
- Assist with general bakery operations and other duties as required

Qualifications

- Previous baking or pastry experience is an asset
- Previous cake decorating experience is strongly preferred




- Experience with buttercream, piping, cake finishing, lettering, borders, and/or fondant is a strong asset
- A creative eye and strong attention to detail
- Ability to follow inspiration photos and recreate cake designs
- Willingness to learn and develop additional baking and decorating skills through hands-on training
- Commitment to producing high-quality products
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced workplace
- Reliable, organized, and able to work collaboratively as part of a team
- Availability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as required
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
