Part-Time Bookkeeper & Payroll AssistantJob Summary
We are looking for a Part-Time Bookkeeper & Payroll Assistant to join our team. This is a great opportunity for someone who has a background in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or a related field and is looking to gain practical experience in bookkeeping and payroll.
Fresh graduates and candidates with limited work experience are welcome to apply. Training and guidance will be provided to the right candidate.
The successful candidate will assist with day-to-day bookkeeping, accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, payroll processing, and maintaining accurate financial records for clients and/or the company.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate accounting and bookkeeping records
- Enter and categorize financial transactions using accounting software
- Assist with QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or other accounting software
- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Perform bank and credit card reconciliations
- Assist with payroll processing and payroll-related records
- Assist with preparing payroll reports and government remittances
- Review accounts and identify discrepancies or missing information
- Assist with month-end and year-end bookkeeping procedures
- Prepare basic financial reports and account statements
- Organize and maintain accounting documents and records
- Communicate with clients or team members regarding bookkeeping and payroll information
- Perform other accounting and administrative tasks as required
Qualifications
- Commerce, Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related education is preferred
- Freshers and recent graduates are encouraged to apply
- Previous bookkeeping or accounting experience is an asset but not required
- Basic understanding of accounting principles
- Basic knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliation
- Familiarity with QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or other accounting software is an asset
- Basic understanding of payroll is an asset
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to learn new software and accounting procedures
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good written and verbal communication skills
