- Job Location Toronto

- Salary Range $80,000 to $90,000 (CAD)

Find the problems worth solving and own the work that solves them.

The opportunity

Help build the function that turns Entro’s data into better business decisions and action. As its founding builder, you will identify opportunities, put practical solutions into use, and improve them quickly with the people who rely on them. This is a dedicated, full-time role focused on changes that improve revenue, profitability, and efficiency.

You will work frequently with Entro’s most senior leaders and key stakeholders on questions that affect project profitability, staffing, growth, and operational performance. You will investigate what is happening, explain why, recommend what to do, and build tools and workflows that help teams follow through.

We are looking for someone who combines commercial judgment and analytical ability with the drive to build. You will learn how Entro earns revenue, delivers projects, and makes money, then use that understanding to choose worthwhile problems and implement solutions. Existing dashboards and analytics give you a foundation to build on.

Why this role

- Build a function from its early foundations. Shape the roadmap, establish useful working practices, and help decide which problems deserve attention first.
- Have direct access to senior leaders and investors. Present findings and recommendations, learn how the business creates value, and see your work inform real decisions.
- Own improvements from discovery through ongoing use. Help choose the problems, develop and implement solutions, learn from users, and see whether your work improves business results.

Examples of the impact you could have

- Spot a change in project profitability, investigate its drivers, and give the project leader a useful briefing and a way to track corrective action.
- Connect pipeline, backlog, and utilization data so leaders can make better staffing and forecasting decisions, with less manual reporting.
- Help business development keep opportunities moving by identifying stale records, routing follow-up to owners, and tracking what gets resolved.

How you will work

You will be Entro’s primary hands-on technical builder; there is no engineering team. Spend time with the people doing the work to uncover unanswered questions, missing information, and repetitive tasks.

Bring their ideas together with leadership priorities to agree a focused roadmap. Own technical delivery and ongoing support, and work with business owners to agree actions, responsibilities, and follow-through.

What you will build and own

- Analyze financial, project, operational, and relationship data to identify commercial opportunities. Explain performance drivers and prioritize improvements by expected value, effort, and uncertainty.
- Connect business systems and approved external sources through APIs, connectors, scripts, and scheduled workflows. Reuse data models and integrations across solutions.
- Build trusted dashboards and clear visual summaries. Establish KPI definitions, reconcile figures to source records, and address data quality issues with business leaders.
- Synthesize information across systems to explain trends, variances, and anomalies. Support budgeting, forecasting, resource planning, and profitability reviews; proactively bring findings and recommendations to leadership and key stakeholder discussions.
- Choose the simplest effective solution: a process change, an existing tool, automation, or custom development. Build and deploy practical tools when needed, prototype quickly with users, validate outputs, and improve through short feedback cycles.
- Turn insight into action with business owners. Build follow-up into regular reviews, observe real usage, and fix missed or awkward steps. Train users and measure adoption, time saved, and business results to guide further improvements.
- Own testing, deployment, monitoring, troubleshooting, and documentation. Choose maintainable solutions, protect confidential data and credentials, and agree approvals for automated changes to business records.

What you bring

- Commercial and analytical judgment. You can reason about revenue, costs, margins, and capacity, investigate what drives a result, and recommend an action tied to business value.
- Evidence that you build things. Personal projects,

small-business automations, freelance work, school projects, and internships all count. Explain your contribution and what improved.
- Curiosity and initiative. You spot problems and opportunities, learn unfamiliar systems quickly, and make progress without a fully defined brief. You test ideas, investigate failures, and adapt.
- Practical development capability. You can build and deploy a small application or automation using data, APIs, and AI coding tools. You review generated code, debug failures, and explain how things work.
- Clear communication. You turn complex findings into useful visuals and concise explanations, distinguish evidence from assumptions, and handle confidential information with care.
- User focus and follow-through. You ask what a brief has missed, improve solutions through feedback, and care whether your work is reliable, used, and commercially practical.

Relevant education or practical experience in business, finance, analytics, or technology is welcome. No degree or minimum years of experience is required. You are expected to learn unfamiliar business systems and how a professional services business operates quickly. Power BI experience is a plus, but not required.

What success looks like

First 10 working days: With access and a defined problem, demonstrate a small working improvement and explain how you checked it.

First 30 days: With access and an agreed scope in place, put a focused first release of a priority solution into use. Demonstrate reliable operation, initial benefits, and improvements made from user feedback.

Six months: Maintain and improve the solutions in use, identify further commercial opportunities from data and user conversations, and show how adoption and business results inform the next priorities.

What to share with your application

Show us one or two things you have built or improved. Explain how you identified the problem, why it mattered, your contribution, the approach and tools you chose, and what changed through user feedback. Show how you checked the result. Demos, screenshots, code, or anonymized walkthroughs all work. Keep other organizations’ confidential information private.

Please submit applications to [email protected]

Please include your resume and cover letter when applying.
