Role : Power BI Developer

Location: Toronto (Hybrid — 2 day/week )

Pay : CAD $55 /Hour

Overview:

We are seeking a Power BI Developer to support Finance and Risk Regulatory Reporting initiatives by delivering reporting, analytics, and visualization solutions that enable data-driven decision-making. This role will work closely with business and technology stakeholders to design, develop, and optimize Power BI dashboards and reports, ensuring accurate and timely reporting for regulatory and financial processes.

In addition to development activities, the successful candidate will contribute to an initial assessment focused on funding approval and business case development, helping to evaluate reporting requirements, solution options, and implementation considerations.

Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards, reports, and data visualizations for Finance and Risk Regulatory Reporting initiatives
- Gather and analyze business and reporting requirements from stakeholders
- Translate complex financial and risk data into clear and actionable insights
- Develop and optimize data models, datasets, calculations, and reporting solutions within Power BI
- Collaborate with business, data, and technology teams to ensure reporting solutions align with regulatory and operational requirements
- Perform data validation and quality checks to ensure accuracy and consistency of reporting outputs
- Support reporting enhancements, issue resolution, and ongoing maintenance activities




- Participate in the assessment of reporting initiatives to support funding approval and business case development
- Document reporting solutions, technical specifications, and development processes
- Identify opportunities to improve reporting performance, usability, and scalability

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

- Experience developing reports, dashboards, and analytical solutions using Power BI
- Solid understanding of data modeling, data transformation, and visualization best practices
- Experience working with financial, risk, or regulatory reporting data
- Proficiency in DAX, Power Query, and SQL
- Experience gathering and translating business requirements into reporting solutions
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience working with large and complex datasets
- Ability to perform data validation, reconciliation, and quality assurance activities
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in cross-functional teams
- Experience supporting business case assessments, requirements analysis, or reporting initiatives

Nice to Have

- Experience in financial services, banking, or regulated industries
- Familiarity with regulatory reporting frameworks and requirements
- Experience with Azure data and analytics services
- Knowledge of data governance and data quality principles
- Experience optimizing Power BI performance and scalability
- Exposure to agile delivery methodologies
- Experience supporting project funding evaluations or business case development activities
- Relevant Microsoft Power BI certifications
