The Opportunity:
We are seeking an experienced Cabinet Sprayer Finisher to join our team. This position plays a critical role in meeting our quality standards and production deadlines in the shop. This role ensures that all products meet the shop’s standards for quality, appearance, durability, and client specifications. Successful execution of these duties is crucial to maintaining our commitment to delivering exceptional products and services to our clients.
The position requires technical skill with spray equipment, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare cabinet and millwork surfaces by sanding, cleaning, and applying conditioners as needed
- Take day to day responsibility for organization and operation of the spray booth, in all situations
· Apply stains, basecoat sealers, polyurethane topcoats, lacquers, varnishes, and pigmented materials using spray guns and other finishing tools, and complete to a high standard of quality
- Manage inventory by accurately recording materials used and reporting shortages
· Inspect finished products for quality, touch up as needed, and ensure adherence to specifications · Assist with moving, loading, and unloading of cabinetry as required
- Collaborate with production and installation teams to coordinate workflow and delivery dates
· Participate in training of apprentices and junior employees Skills,
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in cabinet finishing or a related field required.
- Extensive knowledge of wood coatings in the cabinet/millwork industry applications, including knowledge of various types of finishes, stains, lacquer, and solid colours.
- Proficient in using spray guns, including set-up, operation, and maintenance.
- Skilled in sanding, prepping, and finishing wood surfaces with various coatings.
- Knowledge of different wood species and their unique finishing requirements.
- Familiarity with safety protocols for handling chemicals and operating finishing equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret work orders, manifests, customer specifications.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to distinguish color variations
- Ability to work collaboratively in a shop environment, with all team members.

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities
- Production floor and spray booth environment.
- Exposure to wood dust and strong odors from adhesives and finishes
- Moderate to high noise level due to machinery operation
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
Wage: $30.00-$35.00 / hour, based on experience
Schedule
- Day shift, Monday to Friday
- Compressed work schedule with every 2nd Friday off, as structured below.
- Week 1 – Monday to Thursday from 6:30 AM to 4:00 PM, and Friday from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM (44 hours);
- Week 2 – Monday to Thursday from 6:30 AM to 4:00 PM, with Friday off (36 hours), allowing employees a three-day weekend every other week.
