Who you are
You know cabinet refinishing is a process, not just a spray job. You can take a kitchen from careful disassembly and prep through priming, coating, reinstallation, and a clean final walkthrough. You pay attention to the finish, but you also think about the workflow: how to maintain quality while getting more jobs through the shop and completed on site.
We’re open to painters with hands-on cabinet refinishing experience who are ready to grow in this specialty. We’re especially interested in someone who can help us run a steady volume of cabinet projects and improve how efficiently we complete them.
Who we are
High Five Painting is a residential painting company serving Southwestern Ontario. Our London team handles cabinet refinishing alongside our other interior and exterior work. We have an off-site spray facility and use a vertically hung system for cabinet doors. We’re growing this part of the business for the winter season and year-round.
The role
You’ll work on cabinet projects in clients’ homes and at our spray facility. Some projects may involve spraying doors on site; others will have doors finished off site while the cabinet bodies are completed in the home. You should be comfortable adapting your setup to the project while keeping prep, finish quality, and turnaround consistent.
What you’ll do:
- Remove, label, transport, and reinstall cabinet doors, drawers, and hardware with an organized system
- Clean, sand, repair, mask, and prime cabinet surfaces thoroughly
- Mask and protect kitchens, then spray cabinet bodies in clients’ homes
- Set up contained spray areas on site when a project calls for doors to be finished in the home
- Prep and spray doors at our off-site facility using a vertically hung system
- Work with shellac primer and premium cabinet coatings, such as Renner or comparable products
- Maintain clean spray equipment, organized work areas, and consistent quality checks
- Coordinate with the team so work in the home and at the spray facility moves efficiently
- Help refine our cabinet process, production timing, and spray setup as volume grows
What you’ll bring:
- Hands-on experience refinishing and spraying cabinets
- Confidence with masking, surface prep, priming, and achieving a smooth, durable finish
- Experience using spray equipment and understanding how setup and application affect the final result
- Familiarity with shellac primer and premium cabinet coatings, or the ability to learn our product system quickly
- Care when working inside occupied homes and communicating with homeowners
- An organized approach to labeling, handling, and reinstalling doors and hardware
- A valid driver’s licence and your own reliable vehicle to travel to job sites and our London spray facility
Experience with Renner products, in-home spray setups, off-site door production, or improving a cabinet shop’s workflow is a robust asset. What you can expect
- A steady pipeline of cabinet work, especially through the winter
- An off-site spray facility and an established door-hanging system
- The opportunity to shape how we produce cabinet jobs as this service grows
- A team that values clean finishes, strong systems, and craftsmanship
If you’ve refinished cabinets and want to help build a cabinet operation that delivers excellent work at scale, we’d like to hear from you. Apply with your resume and a brief description of the cabinet projects you’ve completed. Photos of your work are welcome.
