Job Summary The Caregiver/Home Support Worker provides personalized, non-clinical support to seniors and people with disabilities in their homes, helping support their comfort, safety and social engagement. This role includes assistance with daily activities and companionship and does not include clinical or nursing tasks.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide companionship and emotional support to help reduce social isolation.
- Assist with personal care and daily routines according to the client’s care plan, training and authorized duties.
- Assist with light housekeeping, laundry, meal preparation and grocery shopping.
- Provide medication reminders according to the client’s care plan.
- Accompany clients to appointments, errands and outings as authorized.
- Identify client care concerns and promptly report changes in a client’s condition to the Care Designer or supervisor.
- Follow care plans and maintain accurate documentation of services provided.
- Use a respectful, empathetic and patient approach tailored to each client’s needs.
- Follow infection control, safety and emergency procedures.
- Respect client privacy, confidentiality,



dignity and independence at all times.
- Maintain a clean and organized environment.

Qualifications and Requirements

- Minimum 18 years of age.
- A compassionate, attentive and respectful approach to seniors and their individual needs.
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills, including the ability to speak fluently and write clearly in English.
- Additional languages, are an asset.
- Previous experience in home support, caregiving or a related field is preferred.
- Certification as a Health Care Assistant, Personal Support Worker, Registered Care Aide, Home Support Worker or equivalent is an asset.
- Dementia and Alzheimer’s care training is an asset; in-house training is also provided.
- Valid First Aid and CPR certification is an asset.
- Food Safe awareness or certification is an asset.
- Knowledge of infection control and safe work practices.
- Ability to lift up to 20 lbs and perform physical tasks safely within the role’s duties and training.
- Reliable attendance, a professional manner and the ability to work independently.
- Availability to work multiple shifts of 2–8 hours in at least two of the following cities: Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, Port Moody, Pitt Meadows, Maple Ridge or Mission.
- Access to your own reliable vehicle for each shift, a valid Class 5 driver’s licence and a clean driver’s abstract.




- Access to a mobile phone and the internet for scheduling, communication and visit documentation.
- A satisfactory criminal record check, including vulnerable sector screening, completed within the last 12 months, or willingness to obtain one before starting. Updated screening is required every five years for continued employment.
- Two skilled references and successful completion of reference checks.
