Job Summary

Victoria Food and Florist, a well-established convenience store in Victoria, is looking for a reliable, friendly, and customer-focused Part-Time Cashier to join our team.

The successful candidate will provide excellent customer service, process customer transactions accurately, and assist with general store duties. This is a excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people and is comfortable in multitasking.

Duties

- Greet customers warmly and provide exceptional customer service throughout their shopping journey
- Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately to process cash, credit, and digital payments
- Conduct product demonstrations to showcase features and benefits, encouraging customer engagement and sales
- Assist customers with product inquiries, technical questions, and upselling opportunities to maximize sales potential
- Maintain merchandising standards by organizing displays and ensuring product availability on the sales floor
- Handle cash transactions with precision, including cash handling, balancing registers, and issuing receipts
- Communicate effectively via phone and in person to address customer questions, schedule demos, or resolve issues
- Manage time efficiently during busy periods to ensure prompt service and smooth checkout processes

Requirements





- Previous experience in retail sales or cashiering is preferred; technical sales experience is a plus
- Strong communication skills in English; bilingual abilities are highly desirable for serving diverse customers
- Ability to perform basic math accurately for cash handling and transaction processing
- Demonstrated organizational skills to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of POS systems, merchandising practices, and customer service principles
- Experience with product demos and upselling techniques to enhance customer satisfaction and sales outcomes
- Excellent phone etiquette, time management, and interpersonal skills to build rapport with customers
- Multilingual capabilities are advantageous for engaging a broader customer base
