GROBE'S NURSERY & GARDEN CENTRE is Waterloo Region's largest independent garden centre and has been in operation for more than 60 years. In the fall we transform into Grobe's Christmas Tree Country, with thousands of fresh cut Christmas trees on offer to our many customers, and it takes lots of work to make this happen.

We have openings for reliable and capable individuals in good physical condition to assist us during our upcoming busy Christmas season.

Duties include, but are not limited to, putting our garden centre plant materials to bed, turning our store into a Christmas location, loading and unloading Christmas trees, Christmas tree grading/sales/carryout (will train) and assisting where needed across the entire company.

You will be a very big part in the Christmas tradition for many families, so being knowledgeable about these traditions as well as being friendly, helpful and personable is a requirement. The position REQUIRES the ability to lift and carry Christmas trees short distances (50 lbs) AND REQUIRES previous verifiable and recent work experience (within the last 2 years) in an OUTDOOR physical work environment.

It should be noted that our showroom, barns and greenhouses are all used and provide spacious ventilated inside work during inclement weather.

We are in a semi-rural location that is NOT near public transit. We are a smoke free operation.

The successful applicant(s) will be schedule versatile, with preference given to those most able to work any day shifts of 8 to 4. Please note that those applicants that are unavailable to work our weekend shifts during our peak season from mid-November to mid-December will be excluded from consideration.

Reply by email with up to date resume and cover letter, and indicate your work availability. Submissions without cover letters will be reviewed last, but all are evaluated without the use of AI.
