Position Summary
CASTOOL Tooling Systems is seeking a CNC Programmer to join our manufacturing team.
This position is suitable for someone with approximately one to three years of CNC programming, machining, or related manufacturing experience who wants to continue developing their CAD/CAM and manufacturing skills.
The successful candidate will create and modify 3D models using SolidWorks and develop CNC programs using Fusion 360 for 3-axis and 5-axis milling machines and CNC lathes equipped with Fanuc and Heidenhain controls.
Responsibilities
- Create and modify 3D models and manufacturing geometry using SolidWorks
- Create, verify, and optimize CNC programs using Fusion 360
- Develop CNC programs for 3-axis milling machines, 5-axis milling machines, and CNC lathes
- Prepare programs for machines equipped with Fanuc and Heidenhain controls
- Read, understand, write, and modify G-code
- Work with G-code macros and make program adjustments when required
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, dimensions, tolerances, and 3D models
- Assist with selecting tooling, cutting parameters, workholding, and machining strategies
- Simulate and check programs before releasing them to the shop floor
- Support machinists during setup, first-off production, and troubleshooting
- Make program corrections based on shop-floor feedback
- Maintain accurate program files, setup information, and manufacturing documentation
- Follow established programming and file-management procedures
Required Qualifications
- Approximately 1–3 years of CNC programming, machining, or related manufacturing experience
- Experience with Fusion 360, SolidWorks, or similar CAD/CAM software
- Experience with 3-axis milling, CNC lathe programming, or related CNC machining
- Ability to read and understand G-code and make basic program edits
- Ability to read mechanical drawings and understand dimensions, tolerances, and basic GD&T;
- Basic knowledge of CNC machining, cutting tools, feeds and speeds, workholding, and setups
- Familiarity with Fanuc and/or Heidenhain controls
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
- Ability to communicate work-related information clearly in English
- Good problem-solving, organizational, and teamwork skills
- Willingness to learn new software, controls, products, and machining processes
- Legally authorized to work in Canada
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with Fusion 360
- Experience creating or modifying models in SolidWorks
- Experience programming both CNC milling machines and CNC lathes
- Experience with 5-axis CNC programming and machining
- Experience reading, writing, or troubleshooting G-code macros
- Previous CNC machine setup or operating experience
- Experience supporting first-off production and troubleshooting
- Experience maintaining manufacturing documentation
Compensation and Benefits
- $25.00–$30.00 per hour, based on experience, technical knowledge, and ability to work independently

Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour
