Job Overview
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Communicative Disorders Assistant to join our dynamic team. In this paid role, you will support speech-language pathologists in delivering therapy services to diverse clients, including pediatric populations and those in acute care settings. Your role will be vital in assisting with assessments, implementing treatment plans, and ensuring a positive experience for clients and their families.
Duties
- Assist speech-language pathologists with client assessments and therapy sessions, particularly in pediatric and acute care environments
- Support the implementation of individualized treatment programs under supervision
- Prepare therapy materials and set up equipment for sessions
- Monitor client progress and document observations accurately
- Maintain a clean, organized therapy environment adhering to health and safety standards
- Communicate effectively with clients, families, and team members to ensure seamless service delivery
- Follow all clinical protocols and utilize medical terminology appropriately during documentation
Skills
- Prior experience working in acute care settings or with pediatric populations is highly desirable
- Strong understanding of medical terminology related to speech-language pathology
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage clients of all ages
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- Demonstrated organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently
