About Us
We partner with universities to scale career support through our two digital platforms: Beyond Graduate School for master's students, and Beyond the Professoriate for PhDs. We work with about 90 campuses in the United States, and we're growing each year.
We're a small but mighty team of five, founder-led, and most of us have been with the company since the beginning. This company is our passion project. We're looking for someone who wants to join our team and share that commitment.
We're remote, we work across time zones, and we're collaborative. On a small team, that means we have autonomy in our work, but we're also accountable to each other. Integrity and trust are core principles we value in team members.
About the Role
This role turns learner problems into sessions that work. You'll dig into why graduate students get stuck in their career search, build content that answers it, and deliver it as a compelling, engaging speaker who gets people to act.
Our sessions start with the student's pain point, explain the what and the why, then move into the how. That's different from teaching academic subject matter, where students are evaluated on their knowledge. We want students to build confidence in their skills and apply what they're learning to their own job search. Master's students and PhDs are different learners, so you'll build for each group separately.
All of our programming is virtual, and many of our webinars run in listen-only mode, where students can't unmute or turn on cameras. You'll hold their attention through storytelling, pacing, chat, polls, and Q&A;, and give them a reason to stay for the whole session.
Your First Year The role changes over the year as we update the content on both of our platforms.
For your first three months, you'll rewrite scripts and recorded content for our PhD platform.
Starting in January, you'll present our monthly webinars and take the lead on refreshing and updating our curriculum for master's students.
Once the updates to our current platforms are finished in the summer, your primary responsibilities will be running monthly webinars for master's students and PhDs, keeping sessions current, building workshops for partner offices, and leading info sessions for faculty.
You'll also review questions submitted by students to make sure our content stays up to date and relevant to their needs.
