General Description:
We are seeking a hands-on financial Controller at our Delta office. The Controller will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining accounting principles, best practices, and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements. This position oversees the accounting team and is accountable for all financial reporting and operational accounting support.
The successful candidate will possess strong accounting & communication abilities, excellent organizational skills, a keen attention to detail, and a readiness to handle a variety of responsibilities within a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Responsibilities:
Manage all accounting activities to ensure financial information is accurate, timely, and supported by solid internal controls in accordance with Canadian GAAP.
Lead, mentor, and develop the administrative and accounting team (5 members), including AP, AR, Payroll, and Senior Accounting staff.
Manage the revenue cycle to ensure accurate and timely billing, revenue recognition, and collections.
Oversee all bank and deposit accounts.
Oversee general ledger and journal entry postings, and manage the financial month-end/year-end close processes, ensuring all transactions are recorded properly, and producing accurate and timely financial statements.
Manage salary employee benefit plans including pension benefits and our extended health & dental benefit plan.
Manage, update and process semi-monthly salary employee payroll using Payworks and ensure employees are paid accurately and on time, and all statutory deductions are handled accordingly.
Manage all corporate insurance policies and renewals.
Generate capital project requests and provide supporting financial analysis.
Manage shareholder’s internal control audits, annual external audit and others including GHG, and PEFC audit processes.
Overall responsibility for EHT, PST compliance, Federal and BC Logging Tax accounts, and coordination with auditors for preparation and filing of all annual returns.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Commerce from accredited institution.
CPA designation must.
Minimum 10 years of accounting experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment preferred.
Experience with MS Dynamics GP platforms.
Experience with data analytics tools, ERP integrations, and process automation is an asset.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including strong Excel and Word skills.

Pay: $140,000.00-$170,000.00 per year
