Role Description The Cook is a part-time, on-site role based at LOCALE Restaurants in Aurora, ON. This role is responsible for preparing menu items according to recipes and standards, ensuring proper portioning, presentation, and timing.

Day-to-day tasks include setting up and maintaining station mise en place, cooking dishes during service, and assisting with prep work such as chopping, marinating, and batching sauces. The Cook follows food safety and sanitation guidelines, keeps the kitchen clean and organized, and coordinates with team members to support smooth service.



This role may also assist with receiving and storing inventory, monitoring product quality, and communicating any supply or equipment needs to kitchen leadership.

Qualifications

- Ability to prepare and cook dishes in a scratch kitchen, with strong knife skills and familiarity with Italian-inspired cuisine.
- Knowledge of food safety, hygiene standards, and basic kitchen operations, including cleaning, organization, and equipment handling.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to follow instructions and collaborate in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail, reliability, and time management skills to maintain consistency and quality during busy service periods.
- Previous experience in a restaurant or commercial kitchen is an asset; culinary training or certification is considered beneficial.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift moderate weights, and work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
