Role Description The Cross Border Truck Dispatcher is a full-time, on-site role based in Sherwood Park, AB. This position coordinates daily cross-border and Canada-wide freight movements, including heavy equipment, deck freight, bonded, and hazmat loads.

Responsibilities include scheduling and assigning trucks, optimizing routes, monitoring shipments, and communicating with drivers, customers, and customs brokers to ensure timely deliveries. The dispatcher maintains accurate documentation, tracks loads and driver hours, and addresses any issues or delays in transit. The role also involves ensuring compliance with Canadian and U.S. transportation regulations, safety standards, and border-crossing requirements.

Qualifications





- Experience in truck dispatching or transportation coordination, ideally involving cross-border Canada–U.S. operations.
- Knowledge of routing, load planning, and equipment types (vans, flatbeds, super B, quads, maxi) and their applications.
- Familiarity with customs procedures, bonded freight, and hazmat regulations, including relevant documentation and compliance requirements.
- Proficiency with dispatching software, GPS tracking systems, and basic office tools (e.g., spreadsheets, email, scheduling applications).
- Strong communication and customer service skills to work effectively with drivers, clients, and logistics partners.
- Ability to manage multiple loads, prioritize tasks, and solve problems in a fast-paced workplace.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in maintaining records, load information, and regulatory documentation.
- Understanding of transportation safety standards and hours-of-service rules in Canada and the U.S.
- High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education in logistics, supply chain, or transportation management is an asset.
- Prior experience in heavy equipment transport or deck freight dispatch is an advantage.
