Become a pivotal Assistant Crown Attorney in the Guns and Gangs Unit, serving alongside dedicated legal professionals in Toronto. Combat organized crime, gang violence, and the illegal use of firearms through effective prosecution and legal advice. The Ministry of the Attorney General is seeking experienced lawyers for the Criminal Law Division in Toronto.
This role involves leading case preparations, providing police with legal advice, and conducting prosecutions in the Ontario Court of Justice.
Key responsibilities include drafting legal documents and managing major cases to combat gang-related offenses and organized crime. Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and prosecute major criminal cases
- Provide legal advice to law enforcement agencies
- Draft legal documents,
including search warrants
- Review materials related to confidential sources
- Manage hearings concerning forfeiture of assets Requirements:
- Must be a lawyer in valuable standing with Law Society of Ontario
- Strong knowledge of Criminal Code and related laws
- Experience with criminal litigation in Ontario courts
- Familiarity with wiretap applications and search warrants
- Major-case management experience in criminal law This role requires keen judgment, strong analytical skills, and a commitment to justice.
