Role : Senior Data Governance Lead

Location: Toronto (Hybrid — 1 days/week )

Overview:

Senior Data Governance Lead to support a client-led initiative focused on reducing the footprint of accessible data assets through improved data retention, classification, records management, and disposal practices. The engagement will focus on both structured and unstructured data governance, with a robust emphasis on security, regulatory compliance, and information lifecycle management.

Key Responsibilities

- Define and lead the delivery approach for enterprise data retention and records management initiatives.
- Assess and establish governance processes for structured and unstructured data assets across platforms such as SharePoint, file shares, and collaboration tools.
- Develop data classification, retention, archival, and disposal frameworks.
- Collaborate with security, risk,



and business teams to align governance controls with enterprise security objectives.
- Support the evaluation and implementation of data security and governance tools such as Cyera, Varonis, Microsoft Purview, or similar platforms for

unstructured data in SharePoint, Ian, etc.
- Establish policies, standards, and operational processes for data lifecycle management and over-retained data remediation.
- Provide strategic guidance on data governance, records management, information management, and data protection best practices.
