Overview The Dishwasher/Kitchen Helper is a full-time position responsible for maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment while supporting the kitchen team with daily operations. Duties include washing and sanitizing dishes, cookware, and utensils, assisting with basic food preparation, cleaning kitchen areas, restocking supplies, and supporting cooks and other team members during service.

The successful candidate must be dependable, hardworking, and comfortable working in a fast-paced restaurant environment. This position requires flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and late-night closing shifts. The candidate must be willing to work scheduled closing shifts and assist with cleaning and kitchen closing duties until the restaurant is fully closed.

Responsibilities & Duties

- Wash, rinse, sanitize, and properly store dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dishwashing area, kitchen, and assigned work areas.
- Assist kitchen staff with basic food preparation, including washing, peeling, cutting, and portioning ingredients as directed.
- Keep kitchen supplies, utensils, and equipment properly stocked and organized.
- Clean and sanitize work surfaces, floors, sinks, garbage areas, and other kitchen areas as required.
- Assist with receiving, moving, and storing food and kitchen supplies.
- Dispose of garbage, recycling, and food waste according to restaurant procedures.
- Follow proper food safety, sanitation, and workplace health and safety procedures.
- Assist cooks and other kitchen staff during busy service periods as needed.
- Ensure adequate supplies of clean dishes, utensils,



and cookware are available throughout service.
- Operate dishwashing and kitchen equipment safely and responsibly.
- Report damaged equipment, maintenance issues, shortages, or safety concerns to the supervisor or manager.
- Follow all restaurant policies, procedures, and instructions from the Head Chef, Kitchen Supervisor, or Management.
- Assist with opening and closing kitchen duties, including cleaning and restocking.
- Perform other reasonable kitchen support duties as assigned by management.

Experience

- Prior experience in a restaurant, hotel, or food service environment is a must.
- Knowledge of cleaning procedures and food handling safety standards is advantageous
- Experience with food preparation, cooking, or serving roles is a plus
- Hospitality or customer service experience can be beneficial for team collaboration
