Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Early Childhood Assistant / Early Childhood Educator to join our vibrant educational team. Responsibilities
- Assist lead teachers in implementing age-appropriate curriculum activities that stimulate learning and development.
- Support children’s individual needs, including those with disabilities or special education requirements, ensuring an inclusive classroom environment.
- Supervise children during indoor and outdoor activities, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
- Foster positive behaviour and social skills through effective communication and guidance strategies.
- Maintain organized classroom environments by preparing materials, cleaning up after activities, and managing supplies efficiently.
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding children’s progress, needs, and achievements.
- Use computer skills to document observations, update records, and assist with administrative tasks as needed.
- Safely drive the childcare bus/van for before- and after-school transportation, including school pick-ups and drop-offs.
Skills & Requirements
- Valid Class 4 driver’s licence (or ability to obtain one) is required to drive the childcare bus/van for the Before and After School Care Program.
- Proficiency in English; knowledge of French is a plus for bilingual communication with diverse families.
- Robust childcare experience with a focus on early childhood development principles.
- Knowledge of special education practices and experience working with children with disabilities or additional support needs.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with children, families, and team members.
- Demonstrated classroom management abilities and organizational skills to maintain a structured learning environment.
- Computer operation skills for documentation, record keeping, and educational software use.
- Leadership qualities to guide children positively while fostering independence and confidence.
- Time management skills to balance multiple responsibilities efficiently.
- Writing skills for accurate record keeping and reporting on child progress.

Pay: $19.00-$21.00 per hour
