We are looking for an engaging, energetic and creative Early Childhood Educator to join our team at Mid Island Explorers Childcare in Parksville.
We are a large, play-based childcare centre that believes children learn best through play, creativity, exploration and hands-on experiences. We aren't afraid to get messy, be silly and try something new!
Our days can include
- Trips to the fire hall and other community outings
- Setting off baking soda rockets
- Creative art and messy play
- Outdoor exploration
- Hands-on experiments and activities
- Special visitors and recent experiences
- Lots of opportunities for children to explore, create and have fun
We are looking for a positive ECE who genuinely enjoys getting involved with the children. We want someone who is comfortable getting down on the floor to play, heading outside, doing art projects, experimenting and bringing their own creative ideas to the centre.
The successful candidate must
- Hold a validBC Early Childhood Educator (ECE) Certificate
- Have valid First Aid
- Be punctual and dependable
- Communicate professionally with children, families and coworkers
- Use positive reinforcement, redirection and distraction when supporting children's behaviour
- Be creative, enthusiastic and comfortable actively participating in children's play and activities
- Work well as part of a team
We support PNP for eligible ECEs.
