Position Overview
The Columbia Shuswap Regional District (CSRD) is now accepting applications for the position of Emergency Program Coordinator, based out of Salmon Arm, BC.
Reporting to the Manager, Protective Services (Regional Fire Chief), the Emergency Program Coordinator is responsible for the coordination and delivery of the Columbia Shuswap Regional District's emergency management program. The position supports preparedness, mitigation, response, recovery, and business continuity initiatives through planning, training, exercising, public education, stakeholder engagement and program development. The Coordinator develops, implements and evaluates emergency management strategies and plans based on identified hazards, risks and vulnerabilities within the region and serves in the Emergency Operations Centre during activations.
Qualifications
- Degree,
diploma or certificate in Emergency Management or a related discipline.
- Minimum four (4) years of relevant experience, preferably in a unionized, local government workplace.
- An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.
- Ability to travel locally and regionally.
- Ability to respond to emergency incidents and activations outside of regular business hours, including evenings, weekends, statutory holidays and extended operational periods.
- Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License.
- Valid Occupational First Aid Level 1 certification (or equivalent).
$3,397.69 to $3,721.18 bi-weekly (January 2026 rates)
Position Type
Permanent, full time (35 hour work week), CUPE. Hours of work for this position are Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
