Greener Village is a charitable organization that has provided services for the community of Fredericton and surrounding areas for over three decades.

At Greener

Village, we provide food, clothing and opportunities that people need on their journey to self-sufficiency. Our vision is that everyone in our community has the resources they need to thrive.

We offer a variety of services and programs such as the Fredericton Food Bank, the Unique Boutique Thrift Store, a Learning Kitchen, and Community Gardens. We serve up to 2,100 client families each month with the help of hundreds of volunteers throughout our Organization.

Hours of Work and Reporting Structure

Workdays are typically Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 4:30pm.

Weekend and after hours work may be required occasionally.

Scheduled hours of work and operating days may be changed, given sufficient notice, to accommodate special projects, holiday events, other special events or business requirements.

This position will report to the Director of Development & Communications.

Overall Responsibilities

Volunteer Manager (approximately 50% of role):

Recruit, interview, train, manage, and onboard new volunteers for the Organization

Participate in volunteer recruitment events and provide information about volunteer opportunities

Ensure all volunteers review, understand and agree to the volunteer policies and procedures in place (i.e., volunteer manual, confidentiality and privacy agreement, and health and safety policies)

Follow-up with department managers on volunteer progress and development,



assist with problem-solving as needed

Schedule volunteers in collaboration with department managers

Explore, advance, and strengthen volunteer opportunities through collaboration and partnerships with community organizations (i.e., businesses, service groups, educational institutions, community leaders, etc.)

Act as a point of contact for volunteers as needed, this includes collecting feedback on volunteer experiences and connecting volunteers to contacts within the Organization

Respond promptly to volunteering inquiries and requests

Collect monthly volunteer hours from department managers

Assist department managers with maintaining up-to-date volunteer information and activity

Lead and manage volunteer appreciation opportunities and events

Development Coordination (approximately 35% of role):

Provide fundraising support for capital campaign and annual initiatives, such as donor outreach, cultivation, and stewardship

Support the Director of Development & Communications with researching potential sponsors and maintaining accurate records

Assist with fundraising events held by the Organization or community partners, as needed

Participate in relevant training and skill building opportunities





Seasonal Project Coordination (approximately 15% of role):

Coordinate Backpack & Angel Tree Programs in collaboration with senior management

Coordinate seasonal volunteer requirements (Angel Tree at Regent Mall, Corporate Angel Tree, Turkey Drive Support, Holiday Hamper building, and other programs).

Pay: $48,000.00-$55,000.00 per year
