The Municipality of Bluewater is accepting applications for a Permanent Full‑Time Equipment Operator within the Public Works Department. This position supports municipal road maintenance, construction, and winter control operations through the safe operation of heavy equipment and vehicles.

What You Will Do:

Under the direction of the Roads Supervisor or Roads Foreman, you will:

- Operate a variety of heavy equipment and vehicles including single and tandem axle trucks (with plow, sander, dump and water tank attachments), graders, loaders, backhoes, dozers, tractors, sweepers, and other power and hand tools
- Perform winter control operations including plowing, sanding, ice blading and snow removal
- Carry out road maintenance such as grading, ditching, shoulder widening, culvert repairs, dust control, and pavement patching
- Assist with construction projects including watermain and sanitary sewer work
- Maintain equipment, vehicles, and tools in safe operating condition and identify major repair or replacement needs
- Clear brush, trees, and debris, respond to emergencies and severe weather events, and interact professionally with the public
- Perform other related duties as assigned

Work Schedule:

- Full‑time (40 hours per week), overtime, evening, early morning, weekend, and on‑call work as required
- Availability for emergency response and winter control operations is mandatory

What You Bring:

- Secondary school graduate or equivalent




- Minimum 5 years’ experience in construction or municipal road works, including heavy equipment operation
- Valid DZ driver’s license with a clear Driver’s Abstract
- Current Standard First Aid and CPR certification
- Working knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act, WHMIS, Working at Heights, and Confined Space Entry
- Solid communication and public relations skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Successful completion of a Criminal Record Check to the satisfaction of the Municipality

Work Location: Municipal roads and Public Works facilities throughout the Municipality of Bluewater
