Patio Gardens is looking for an Events, Marketing & Social Media Coordinator to help us grow our events, strengthen our brand, and introduce Patio Gardens to a new generation of customers.

We’re not just a garden centre.

Patio Gardens is a beautiful farm destination in Central Saanich where gardening, creativity, food, celebrations, shopping, and community come together. We host weddings and events, offer workshops, welcome local makers and vendors, and have a garden centre and gift shop filled with plants, pots, home décor, gifts, and unique finds.

We’re looking for someone who can help us tell that story.

What You’ll Do

Events & Experiences

- Help plan, promote, coordinate, and execute events throughout the year.
- Assist with weddings, garden-themed workshops, craft fairs, markets, seasonal events, and other community experiences.
- Develop fresh ideas for new events that will attract both existing customers and new audiences.
- Coordinate with vendors, instructors, makers, photographers, suppliers, and event participants.
- Help create fun, welcoming experiences that people want to attend — and share.
- Be hands-on during events, making sure everything runs smoothly from setup to wrap-up.

Social Media & Content
- Manage and grow Patio Gardens’ social media presence, particularly Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and other relevant platforms.
- Create engaging photos, videos, Reels, Stories, and other social content.
- Capture the personality of Patio Gardens — from beautiful plants and products to weddings, workshops, behind-the-scenes moments, staff, customers, and events.
- Develop creative campaigns designed to reach a younger demographic and increase engagement.
- Create content calendars and keep our social channels active, current, and relevant.
- Identify trends and find creative ways to make them work for our brand.
- Encourage customers and event guests to share their own Patio Gardens experiences.





Marketing
- Help develop and execute seasonal marketing campaigns.
- Promote upcoming workshops, weddings, events, products, and special promotions.
- Help build awareness of Patio Gardens as a destination — not just a place to buy plants.
- Assist with email marketing, newsletters, website content, promotional materials, and other marketing initiatives.
- Develop relationships with local businesses, creators, makers, influencers, photographers, and community organizations.
- Look for new ways to reach younger customers and build Patio Gardens’ presence in the local community.

- Creative — you naturally come up with ideas and see opportunities everywhere.
- Social — you enjoy talking to people and making connections.
- Organized — you can juggle multiple projects, deadlines, vendors, and events without losing track of the details.
- A great communicator — both online and in person.
- Comfortable in front of the camera — or at least willing to get there!
- Social-media savvy — you understand what makes people stop scrolling.
- A self-starter — you don't need to be told what to do every minute of the day.
- Detail-oriented — because great events are often about the little things.
- Flexible — events sometimes happen evenings and weekends, so availability outside regular hours will occasionally be required.
- Passionate about creating experiences — you understand that people remember how a place makes them feel.
- A gardener with a strong knowledge of plants is a definite bonus!

This Could Be a Great Fit If You... Have experience in events, marketing, social media, hospitality, tourism, retail, weddings, communications, or content creation — or you simply have a natural talent for bringing people together and creating great content.

Flexible work arrangement — a mix of in-person and remote work.

20–40 hours per week, with flexibility depending on events and seasonal needs.

$20–$25/hour, based on experience, skills, and proficiency.
