We are seeking a dynamic and visionary Executive Director to lead our organization with passion, strategic insight, and a commitment to excellence.

Summary The Executive Director, reporting to the Board of Directors, is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Kincardine Chamber of Commerce, ensuring effective operations, member engagement, event execution, and financial management. This position requires a strategic thinker with excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.

The Executive

Director will also serve as the face of the Chamber, representing the organization in the community and engaging with key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Administration:

- Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the Chamber, ensuring effective execution of programs and services.
- Work with the Board of Directors on developing a vision and strategic plan to guide the organization.
- Oversee compliance with by-laws, policies and procedures.
- Prepare minutes and reports for board meetings, providing updates on initiatives, and member engagement.
- Support the renewal process for Chamber memberships, including correspondence, inquiries, and member applications.
- Provide leadership to Chamber staff or volunteers responsible for tasks such as new member recruitment, organizing “Chamber Chats” and managing social media.

Event Planning & Coordination:

- Collaborate with designated Event Committees/Board Members on major Chamber events, including networking functions, business luncheons, and community-based initiatives.
- Develop and execute timely promotional plans for Chamber events across digital, print, email, website, and social media channels to maximize attendance and engagement.
- Coordinate sponsorships, event logistics, and partnerships to ensure events are successful.

Financial Initiatives:

- Research, prepare,



and submit grant and funding applications to support Chamber programs, events, and strategic initiatives.
- Identify current funding opportunities, partnerships, and revenue-generating initiatives that align with the Chamber's objectives.
- Track grant reporting requirements and ensure compliance with funding agreements.

Media & Public Relations:

- Oversight and administrations of the Chamber CRM Website.
- Prepare and distribute media releases to promote Chamber activities, events, new members and achievements.
- Handle press inquiries and organize photo opportunities to raise the Chamber’s profile in the community.

Member Engagement & Services:

- Collaborate with the Member Services Coordinator to ensure the processing of new member applications and ensure effective communication with members about benefits and upcoming activities.
- Develop and implement strategies to engage, retain, and grow the Chamber’s membership base.

Community & Stakeholder Relations:

- Represent the Chamber in meetings with the Municipality of Kincardine (MOK), the Business Improvement Area (BIA), and other community organizations.
- Build and maintain relationships with local businesses, government agencies, and other stakeholders to strengthen the Chamber’s impact and influence.

Social Media & Website Management:

- Oversee the management of the Chamber’s social media accounts and website, ensuring content is timely, relevant, and aligned with Chamber goals.
- Direct part-time staff to organize Chamber Chats,



engage with members, and manage online communications.

Special Projects & Initiatives:

- Lead special projects and initiatives as identified by the Board of Directors to advance the Chamber’s mission.
- Stay informed on industry trends, local economic development, and regional business issues to ensure the Chamber’s programs remain relevant.

Collaboration & Networking:

- Maintain an active presence in external Chamber organizations, industry groups, and regional networks to foster collaboration and exchange idea.

Qualifications:

Experience:

- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a leadership, management, or senior administrative role, preferably within a Chamber of Commerce, non-profit organization, or business association.

Skills & Competencies:

- Proven ability to lead, motivate, and manage staff, volunteers, and stakeholders.
- Strong organizational, time management, and project management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Proficiency in financial management, including budgeting, reporting, and fundraising.
- Knowledge of social media platforms and website management tools (e.g., WordPress) is an asset.
- Experience in event planning and securing sponsorships for large-scale events.

Education:

- Post-secondary degree or diploma in business, marketing, communications, or a related field is preferred.

Other:

- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to addressing challenges.
- Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team, in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Flexibility to attend occasional evening meetings and events as required.

Pay: From $21.00 per hour Expected hours: 30.0 – 40.0 per week
