Experienced Breakfast Cook / Prep Cook

Schedule: Morning shifts starting at 6:00 a.m.

Yummy Waffle is launching a new breakfast service and is looking for an experienced Breakfast Cook to join our team.

This position requires practical kitchen experience. As part of the interview process, selected candidates will complete a hands-on cooking assessment in our kitchen. Candidates may be asked to prepare eggs, an omelette, breakfast potatoes, pancakes, waffles, or a breakfast sandwich while demonstrating organization, cleanliness, speed, and the ability to manage multiple orders.

Responsibilities

- Prepare ingredients and organize the kitchen before opening.
- Cook eggs, omelettes, breakfast sandwiches, waffles, pancakes, and breakfast potatoes.
- Follow recipes and maintain consistent portions, presentation, and quality.
- Prepare multiple orders efficiently during busy periods.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and food-protected workstation.
- Monitor ingredients, rotate stock, restock stations, and minimize waste.
- Complete kitchen cleaning and preparation for the next shift.
- Communicate clearly with the cashier and service team.

Requirements
- Previous professional cooking experience is required.
- Breakfast cooking experience is strongly preferred.
- Strong egg and omelette cooking skills.




- Ability to organize and prepare several orders at the same time.
- Ability to work quickly and remain calm under pressure.
- Reliable attendance and the ability to start work at 6:00 a.m.
- Strong standards for cleanliness, consistency, and food presentation.
- Food Handler Certification is an asset.

Working Hours Kitchen preparation begins at 6:00 a.m., and breakfast is served from 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Shift days and finishing times will be discussed during the interview.

Interview Process

Selected applicants will be invited to Yummy Waffle for an interview that includes a practical cooking assessment. We will evaluate:
- Cooking skills and food quality.

- Cleanliness and safe food handling.
- Portion control and presentation.
- Ability to follow instructions and recipes.
