In this position you will spend the majority of your time assisting the Technicians and Veterinarians with the care and treatment of the pets who depend on us.

Primary Responsibilities
Veterinary Assistants play a vital role in supporting the Veterinarians and Technicians who provide excellent patient care. Your primary responsibilities will be:
- Using best practices to safely restrain pets during exams and treatment.
- Making sure the pets staying in the kennels have clean and comfortable accommodations.
- Preparing mediations with the highest accuracy.
- Updating patient records and notes regarding care in their electronic file.
- Assisting with curbside service by escorting pets into and out of the practice.
- Communicating with clients about their pet’s visit and care.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 2 years of previous veterinary assistant experience
- Experience with exotics a bonus!
- Truly superior verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adapt your style to meet the needs of the person you are communicating with
- The ability to effectively prioritize and meet multiple requests at one time.
- Must be tech savvy with the ability to learn new software quickly.

Hours & Availability This is a Part Time opening; Waterloo West's hours of operation are as follows:
Compensation & Advantages The starting range for this position is $19-$21 per hour, dependent upon education and/or experience.
