Support Junior High students with complex needs as a Family School Liaison Counsellor in our Rural Schools. This temporary position is focused on emotional and behavioural support, starting as soon as possible. We are seeking a qualified Family School Liaison Counsellor for a temporary 35-hour week role dedicated to assisting students in Grades 7–9 until June 30, 2027.
Funded through the Alberta Education Classroom Complexity Grant, this position is designed for those experienced in community support and counselling. Successful candidates must be proactive with excellent communication skills and a solid understanding of diverse student needs. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and small group counselling sessions
- Develop prevention and educational programming
- Facilitate community liaising and crisis intervention
- Maintain confidentiality in all student interactions
- Collaborate with families to navigate support systems Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work or Psychology
- Minimum two years of relevant work experience
- Understanding of emotional needs in students
- Knowledge of community support networks
