- Location: District of Saanich, British Columbia / On-Site Field Deployment
- Position Type: Fixed-Term Contract to the end of 2028, with potential for extension and career growth pathways
- Hours of Work 40 hours/week
- Base Salary & Allowance: $75,000 annual base + $800/month vehicle allowance
- Travel Support: Gas card provided for work-related travel
- Production Incentive: Piece-rate bonus earned starting at 5 units above baseline pace
- Target Total Compensation: $94,000+ per year inclusive of base, vehicle allowance, and production bonuses

POSITION OVERVIEW
Under the direction of the Project Manager, the Field Operations Lead will oversee autonomous field execution, direct installations, and support field technicians. Acting as the primary bridge between management and field operations, this role empowers you to lead projects independently, handle complex troubleshooting, and ensure the highest standards of quality assurance and safety compliance. We utilize modern digital workflows and mobile tools to streamline daily execution.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Autonomous Field Execution & Technical Support
- Lead assigned appointments and install water meters, radios, and associated appurtenances at a target pace of 18 installs per day
- Provide expert technical support and guidance to field installers handling complex plumbing or hard-to-complete installations
Team Leadership & Mentorship
- Hire, onboard, develop,
and manage a high-performing team of field installers to complete radio and meter deployment
- Facilitate hands-on training for meter installers, ensuring operational consistency and safety standards
- Foster an empowering, team-oriented team culture that encourages autonomous problem-solving
Quality Assurance, Digital Workflow & Operations
- Administer Field Quality Assurance and oversee warranty resolutions
- Investigate and document any leaks or claims, implementing proactive corrective measures around workmanship
- Leverage modern handheld devices, digital workflows, and software to capture installation data and track inventory
- Provide valuable field input to the Project Manager for updating project plans and schedules
Customer Relations & Safety Compliance
- Act as a professional point of contact for customer inquiries, resolving service concerns effectively in the field
- Strictly follow and champion safety requirements, conducting regular toolbox talks and safety reviews
- Execute mandatory monthly, quarterly, and yearly site inspections (storage, fire equipment, drills, etc.)
- Perform any other operational duties assigned by management
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma is required; a technical diploma, trade certification (plumbing, HVAC, electrical), or equivalent combination of education and hands-on field experience
- Three years of hands-on installation or technical field experience; Water meter installation experience is preferred,
but strong backgrounds in plumbing, HVAC, electrical, or security/alarm trades are welcome (comprehensive, paid training on specialized meter technology is fully provided)
- Experience leading, supervising, or managing field installers, service crews, or skilled tradespeople is preferred
- Comfortable using mobile handheld devices, digital field workflows, and basic office tools (Word, Outlook)
- Strong interpersonal and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to resolve complex technical installation challenges and communicate effectively with clients and management
- Ability to manage tight project deadlines, operate autonomously in outdoor field environments, and lead by example while maintaining rigorous safety and quality standards
- Valid driver’s license and reliable mode of transportation

Pay: $75,000.00-$94,000.00 per year
