Job Overview

We are looking for a Field Technician to join a small team of approximately eight people for archaeological fieldwork in October.

The Field Technician will work as part of the field crew and assist with day-to-day field activities.

Responsibilities

- Assisting with archaeological fieldwork and site investigations
- Helping with equipment and general field preparation
- Following direction from the field crew and working safely
- Working as part of a small team in an outdoor field environment

Working conditions

- Travel to client sites is required
- Working in the field in remote locations for extended periods of time
- Employees will be required to use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including Steel toes boots, hard hat (grey, Type II side impact, type E), Hi-Vis vest (yellow and orange only), safety glasses (clear and tinted) and gloves.
- Employees will need to provide their own: CSA approved steel toe boots (6”), steel toe rainboots, raingear, long sleeve shirt, and pants.
- Steel toe boots must have the green CSA triangle.

Requirements





- Previous field experience is an asset, and RISC training would be an asset, but we are also open to someone who is interested in learning and gaining experience in the field.
- There is no formal training program scheduled.
- The crew will provide hands-on support and guidance and help the successful candidate get familiar with the work and field procedures.
- This is a good opportunity for someone looking to get their first practical experience in archaeology or build on existing field experience.

- October 13-16
- October 20-13
- October 26-30 (Tentative)
