We are seeking a skilled Flooring Installer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in flooring installation, including floor prep, installing multiple floor coverings, and general labourer. As a Flooring Installer, you will be responsible for measuring, cutting, and installing various types of flooring materials in residential and commercial settings. Attention to detail and the ability to read blueprints are essential for ensuring high-quality workmanship.
Duties
- Measure and cut flooring materials to fit specific areas according to project specifications
- Install various types of flooring, including LVP, carpet tile, laminate, specialty floorings, and carpet
- Lay tile in accordance with design plans and specifications
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine layout requirements
- Perform carpentry tasks related to flooring installation, such as trimming and molding
- Apply caulking and sealants as needed for a finished look
- Ensure all work is completed in compliance with safety regulations and quality standards
- Maintain tools and equipment in positive working condition
Skills
- Proficient in using hand tools and power tools relevant to flooring installation
- Strong construction background with hands-on experience in flooring installation
- Knowledge of tile laying techniques and best practices
- Ability to read blueprints accurately for precise installations
- Carpentry skills for additional tasks related to flooring projects
- Experience with caulking techniques for finishing touches on installations
- General maintenance person experience is a plus, contributing to versatility on the job
