We're a commercial Christmas décor company in our thirtieth year, operating out of a 6,000 square foot warehouse in Ashton, just west of Stittsville and a short drive from Carleton Place, Almonte and Kanata.

We design, build and install holiday décor for shopping centres and commercial properties across the Ottawa region. This is production work with a commercial standard.

We build trees, wreaths and arrangements here in the warehouse, then truck them to malls and office buildings where they're installed and stand in public for six weeks.

What you build has to survive transport, handling and a loading dock. Mechanics, wiring and anchoring matter as much as how it looks. It also has to be repeatable.

Once we approve a sample, we might need 266 of them, and every one has to match. If you've only ever made one-off showpieces, this isn't the role. If you've run volume and held a standard across it, it is.

The work includes floral and greenery assembly, tree building, glittering boxes, shaping and repairing bows, and general light warehouse duties.

It's hands-on and physical. You'll often be working on your own, so self-direction is essential.

You may have a helper under you, so you should be comfortable checking their work and holding them to the sample.

One more thing: we're genuinely looking for someone who knows things we don't. If you can see a better jig, a faster sequence or a cleaner method, we want to hear it and we'll use it.

This isn't a job where you keep your head down.
