Responsibilities
- Coordinate between kitchen staff and servers to ensure timely and accurate delivery of orders
- Verify that dishes meet quality standards before they leave the kitchen, checking presentation and temperature
- High attention to detail regarding allergies/dietary restrictions
- Organize and prioritize orders based on ticket times and service flow to optimize efficiency
- Assist with food preparation tasks as needed, including garnishing and portioning
- Maintain cleanliness of work stations, ensuring compliance with food safety and sanitation standards
- Communicate effectively with kitchen team members about order status or special requests
- Support the overall flow of service by managing order accuracy, timing, and presentation
Skills
- Proven experience in food service or restaurant environments, with a strong understanding of kitchen operations
- Excellent customer service skills to support guest satisfaction and team collaboration
- Knowledge of food handling, safety protocols, and sanitation practices
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Square for order management tasks
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong communication skills to coordinate effectively with kitchen staff and front-of-house team members
- Experience with food preparation, plating techniques, and meal presentation is highly desirable
- Background with Japanese cuisine
- Previous hospitality or hotel experience is a plus, along with serving background
- Capable of multitasking while maintaining a positive attitude in a busy environment
Pay: $17.60 per hour Expected hours: 16.0 – 28.0 per week
