Join the BC Public Service as a Forensic Psychologist based in Coquitlam, BC. Provide formal assessments and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support young individuals with severe mental health challenges. This full time role within the Maples Adolescent Treatment Centre involves conducting assessments required for treatment planning and community support access.
Your expertise in Child and Adolescent Psychology and Forensic Psychology will be essential as you work with young people ages 7-17. You'll be part of a committed team that focuses on enhancing the capacity of communities in caring for at-risk youth. Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct formal assessments for youth with severe mental health issues
- Collaborate in treatment planning with clinical care teams
- Complete assessments for the BC Review Board and Mental Health Act Review Board
- Provide consultation and support to treatment teams
- Support community consultation and training initiatives Requirements:
- Ph.D. in Clinical/Applied or Counselling Psychology
- 1600-hour internship in child and youth mental health
- At least one year of community-based mental health experience
- Registration with the College of Health and Care Professionals
