Responsibilities
- Safely operate forklifts, including clamp trucks and order pickers, to move, load, and unload materials within the warehouse.
- Conduct routine inspections of forklifts and other equipment to ensure proper functioning and report any maintenance needs promptly.
- Assist with warehouse distribution tasks such as order picking, stacking, and organizing inventory according to company standards.
- Use warehouse management systems (WMS) to track inventory movements accurately and update records in real-time.
- Perform heavy lifting tasks as needed, adhering to safety protocols to prevent injuries or accidents.
- Support the use of mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting minor equipment issues and maintaining operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with team members to optimize space utilization and streamline order fulfillment processes.
Skills
- Proven experience in warehouse distribution environments with a focus on forklift operation.
- Certification in forklift operation, including clamp truck handling and order picker use.
- Strong mechanical knowledge to understand equipment functionality and perform basic troubleshooting.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations for inventory counts, measurements, and order accuracy.
- Excellent physical stamina for heavy lifting and extended periods of standing or walking.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) for inventory tracking and order processing.
- Effective communication skills to coordinate with team members and follow safety procedures diligently.
