POSITION OVERVIEW

Responsible for the overall guest experience, the FOH manager runs the floor and bar shoulder to shoulder with the team, leading through example and continuous coaching.

Good Co

Kits is a high-volume, roughly $2M-a-year location, and this role is built around that reality: we're looking for a working manager, not an office-and-oversight manager. Your time is spent actively working the floor, setting the tone for hospitality, and owning the administrative side that keeps the location running, including cash management, scheduling, ordering, and staff training. As a genuinely social mentor and leader within our business, you are guided by and live our Company values: Be Real, Have Fun, Own It, and Grow With Us.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY The FOH Manager owns recruitment, training, development and performance management of their team, and holds significant influence on morale and community experience. The FOH Manager builds genuine relationships with regulars and new guests alike, setting the tone for hospitality on the floor. A key responsibility is developing the team so that shift leads are being built from within, rather than hired from outside.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Builds genuine relationships with regulars and new guests alike; set the tone for hospitality on the floor. Reads the room during service and jump in wherever the shift needs it: bartending, serving, expediting, hosting. Handles guest concerns directly and resolve them in the moment.
- Cash Management & Financial Admin:

owns daily cash-out procedures, deposits, and float management. reconcile POS reports against cash and card totals; flag and resolve discrepancies same-day. Tracks labour cost against sales and adjust staffing decisions accordingly.
- Scheduling & Ordering: builds and posts the FOH schedule two weeks in advance, balancing labour cost with service needs. Manages shift coverage, swaps, and call-outs day to day. Owns the ordering process for FOH supplies and works with BOH on shared ordering needs, using the location's order guides and par levels.
- Training & Team Development: trains new hires on service standards, POS, and house procedures. Runs ongoing development for shift leads and staff (product knowledge, upselling, guest recovery). Identifies and develops future shift leads from within the team. Delivers feedback and coaching in the moment, on the floor, not just in scheduled reviews.

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

- Previous management or senior shift-lead experience in a high-volume bar or restaurant
- A genuinely social, guest-facing personality; someone who lights up a room, not someone who prefers to stay in the back office
- Enthusiastic, comfortable and competent behind the bar and on the floor
- Strong organizational skills including scheduling, ordering, and cash handling
- Sound judgment under pressure during high-volume service
- Valid Serving It Right certificate and knowledge of BC liquor regulations and bylaws
