The Role
We are looking for a full-time Fuel and Lube Technician to support our work in and around Edmonton. This role will be based on the Acheson head office. The ideal candidate has a class three driver’s license and has 2+ years of fuel and lube experience. He/she is a safe driver with a good driver’s abstract and is flexible and can drive out of town with little notice.
Compensation & Perks
- $25.00 - $35.00 per hour depending on experience
- Time and a half after 8 hours per day or 44 hours per week
- 10% vacation and stat holiday pay on all regular hours
- $2.00 per hour out of town premium
- $2.00 per hour night shift premium

Job Duties/Responsibilities
- Perform daily fueling, greasing, lubrication, and routine servicing of heavy equipment including piling rigs, excavators, dozers, loaders, skid steers, trucks, and support equipment.
- Complete preventive maintenance and routine inspections in accordance with manufacturer specifications and company requirements.
- Inspect equipment for leaks, damage, abnormal wear, and mechanical deficiencies and report issues to the Maintenance Department or Supervisor.
- Check and service engine oil, hydraulic fluid, coolant, fuel, grease, and other equipment fluids as required.
- Assist mechanics with equipment servicing, minor repairs, troubleshooting, and breakdown response.
- Maintain accurate fuel, lubrication, equipment-hour, inspection, and service records.
- Safely operate fuel and lube trucks between the shop, suppliers, and project sites, including remote and out-of-town locations.
- Maintain service trucks in a clean, organized, safe, and properly stocked condition.
- Monitor and maintain inventory of fuel, lubricants, filters, grease, spill supplies, and other service materials.
- Load, unload, secure, and transport equipment, parts, tools, and materials as required.
- Safely hook up, disconnect, and tow trailers and ensure all loads are properly secured.
- Follow all company, client, site, environmental, and regulatory requirements related to fueling, equipment servicing, transportation, and hazardous materials.
- Maintain proper spill prevention and response procedures when handling fuel, oil, and other fluids.
- Work safely around operating heavy equipment, moving machinery, traffic, and other construction site hazards.
- Communicate equipment maintenance concerns and service requirements effectively with Operators, Foremen, Superintendents, and Mechanics.
- Complete required work orders, inspection reports, fuel logs, and other documentation accurately and on time.
- Travel to project sites and respond to field service requirements, including out-of-town and short-notice assignments.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and perform other related duties as required.
Education/Training/Soft Skills
- Class 3 license is required with a good driver’s abstract
- Able to work independently with minimal direction
- Extremely organized and deadline driven
- Excellent English language skills required
- Must be on time and fit for work for all shifts
- May be required to perform a drug and alcohol test for pre project access or post incident review
- Must be able to travel out of town and accommodate last minute scheduling
- Physical fit. Able to lift up to 50 lbs. Can climb ladders and get on top a of and under trucks/equipment.
Job Information
- In town (60%) and out of town work (40%)
- 10-12 hours per day
- Monday to Friday with work on weekends as required
